Strategic Pillar for Promoting Investment and Economic Transformation in Cameroon

The Cameroon Investment Forum is a biennial flagship event designed to catalyse private, domestic and international investment in strategic sectors of the Cameroonian economy. Since its first edition, the CIF has established itself as a meeting place for public decision-makers, investors, technical and financial partners, and private sector actors, promoting networking, the exchange of experiences, and the formation of structural partnerships.

MAIN THEME:

“UNLOCKING NEW OPPORTUNITIES, INVESTING IN STABILITY AND GROWTH: CAMEROON, A STRATEGIC HUB OF THE NEW AFRICAN ECONOMY.”

Objectives of CIF

Potential

Present Cameroon’s investment potential in priority sectors by highlighting key strengths such as abundant natural resources, a strategic geographic position, access to a regional market of over 300 million consumers through CEMAC and proximity to Nigeria, together with a stable macroeconomic environment that supports long-term economic growth.

Opportunities

Promote investment opportunities by presenting bankable projects and connecting project developers with potential investors through structured networking activities, including the organisation of dedicated “investment market” sessions designed to facilitate partnerships, financing discussions, and the transformation of proposals into concrete investments.

Dialogue

Facilitate effective public-private dialogue to identify and progressively remove barriers to investment, particularly those related to regulatory frameworks, taxation policies, access to financing, land availability, and governance practices, thereby improving the overall business climate and reinforcing investor confidence.

Substitution

Support the national import substitution strategy by directing investment toward agricultural and industrial value chains capable of producing locally what is currently imported, strengthening domestic production capacity, reducing the trade deficit, and increasing the overall resilience of the national economy.

Visibility

Strengthen Cameroon’s international visibility by promoting the country as an attractive, competitive, and secure destination for business, emphasizing investment readiness, institutional support mechanisms, and the potential for profitable partnerships within a dynamic and expanding regional market.

Development

Contribute to achieving the objectives of SND30 and Vision 2035 by encouraging investments that accelerate industrialisation, stimulate job creation, and promote sustainable economic development, ensuring that growth benefits both current and future generations while reinforcing national economic transformation.
